It was World Cancer Day on the 4th Feb 2021 when Patrick went for his regular MRI scan to check the status of his brain cancer. This is a demonstration of the positive power of ‘sharing’ and how it builds mental resilience. It takes away the stigma we have around sharing our ‘weakness’ and the ‘guilt’ that we feel by showing our vulnerable side.

It brought memories back of his cancer treatment and ‘scan-zitus!’ He was able to control his stress by using a positive term we learned:

“We are not statistics'“

The first person that you have to support is yourself, not others. Then you are in a better position to help those around you.
