The power of learning to listen

Active listening enables you to tune into what people are saying, which helps with understanding, empathy and clarity. Patrick Melville explains how it works.

Did you know that most people have never received any training on Active Listening??  As you might guess, result is that:

  • We confuse it with 'Hearing', then we don't get the best from our conversations.

  • We don't use our relationships as best as we can. This can be selling a service, buying a product, maintaining friendship, starting a new life or career or caring for ourselves.

It's not our fault. According to MHFA England, we spend: 12 years learning to write and under 0.5 years learning to listen BUT we only spend 9% of our time writing and 42% of our time listening.

Here is a recent video post about active listening. It is a summary about the tips of Active Listening and why to use it - to build your relationships, mental health and business.
